RCAC HISTORY PROJECT
RCAC will be 60 years old in 2026.
It has quite a rich history that has been captured in photographs and news articles.
Currently, there are several binders of materials, but this makes the information fairly inaccessible. Maria Piantanida is looking for several people to help go through the binders and create a more user friendly book. If you are interested in helping please call or text Maria at
412-337-0832

.
Volunteers Needed
RCAC is looking for volunteers to help serve lunch during the week. Only an hour and a half of your time, a couple times a month.
Volunteers are also needed to help check people in before exercise classes. If you are able to arrive 15 minutes before class and assist people we could use your help.
Please talk with LuAnne, Julie or Mary Margaret if you are able to help.

Somatics Class
Thursdays at 10:30 am
Most chronic pain, joint degeneration, and recurring injuries are caused by the way we use our bodies – the way we sit, stand, and move throughout our lives. And our nervous system is responsible for telling us how to use our bodies. Our nervous system tells us which muscles to contract, when to release them, and how to hold our bodies when we’re just sitting or standing still. Clinical Somatics engages the nervous system in an active learning process that consists of very slow, focused, conscious movements. The movement techniques used in Clinical Somatics teaches the nervous system how to release chronic muscle tension and stand and move in natural, efficient ways so that you aren’t putting yourself in pain or doing damage to your body.
**This class requires a yoga matt and the ability to get up and down from the floor without assistance.
