Grateful for the Community That Supports Us
We are so proud to announce West Shore is helping us enrich the lives of Pennsylvania seniors this fall. The home remodeling company is supporting our Meals on Wheels program, helping us deliver more than 2,500 meals to homebound seniors. Employees from West Shore also volunteered with us in early October, preparing meals for seniors across Oakmont.
“We are so grateful to receive support from West Shore,” said Stefanie Woolford, Executive Director of the Riverview Community Action Corporation. “Most of our clients do not have family in the area and our volunteers are sometimes the only human contact they receive. Support from local businesses, such as West Shore, is crucial as it fills the gaps left by limited public funding.”
While Allegheny County covers fifty percent of RCAC’s funding, the rest of our budget is supported by generous individuals and companies. West Shore’s funding will help support meals for nearly seven weeks. These daily meals are designed to provide one third of the daily-recommended dietary allowance and to promote healthy eating habits. The program supplies additional food for homebound seniors during the winter months.
From the desk of the Director…
