From the desk of the Director…
In like a lion and out like a lamb, that’s what we associate with March. The saying has transitioned to be about the weather but originally it dealt with the constellations with the constellation Leo the lion, at the beginning of the month and constellation Aries the ram or lamb, at the end of the month.
Join me and other members at the beginning of the month, Friday, March 3 at 12:30 for our Center Council Meeting so we can hear your thoughts about activities and trips for RCAC. Come for lunch at 12 and stay for the meeting. Your input will help to make RCAC the place you want to come for exercise, food, fun and friends.
FYI there is no membership fee to join RCAC and it is only $2 round trip to take the RCAC bus from your house to the center and back home. Just call the day before to schedule your trip.
We are looking for a part-time bus driver, please contact me if you are interested.
Have a wonderful month!
Mary Margaret

Somatics Class
Thursdays at 10:30 am
Most chronic pain, joint degeneration, and recurring injuries are caused by the way we use our bodies – the way we sit, stand, and move throughout our lives. And our nervous system is responsible for telling us how to use our bodies. Our nervous system tells us which muscles to contract, when to release them, and how to hold our bodies when we’re just sitting or standing still. Clinical Somatics engages the nervous system in an active learning process that consists of very slow, focused, conscious movements. The movement techniques used in Clinical Somatics teaches the nervous system how to release chronic muscle tension and stand and move in natural, efficient ways so that you aren’t putting yourself in pain or doing damage to your body.
**This class requires a yoga matt and the ability to get up and down from the floor without assistance.
